A studio shaped by
craft and intention.
Arla’s work is guided by decades of experience across landscape design, sculpture, and joinery. Every piece is designed and handcrafted in Christchurch, overseen from first sketch to final assembly. This hands-on approach ensures that each object is considered in form, material, and finish — designed to last decades, not seasons.
Meet the maker:
Jonny Hall
Based in our workshop at the foot of the Port Hills in Christchurch, Jonny oversees every object from the first sketch to handcrafted completion.
His approach to lighting is informed by decades of shaping structures and environments. This experience ensures that every Arla piece is a deliberate study in geometry and material honesty, built to last for decades, not seasons. For Jonny, design is about reduction, stripping an object back to its essential form to create something that is quietly bold and designed to belong.
