Product Care Guide
Arla lights are made to be lived with. With simple care, your light will age gracefully and retain its integrity for many years.
Cleaning & Everyday Care
Before Cleaning or Handling
Always switch off the power and allow the light to cool completely before cleaning or handling. For pendant or hardwired lights, ensure power is isolated at the source.
Painted Plywood Surfaces
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For marks, wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth and warm water. Dry immediately with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths, solvents, alcohol-based or citrus cleaners, as these may damage the finish.
Materials & Environment
Natural Material Characteristics
Arla lights are made from birch plywood, a natural material that may show subtle variations in grain and tone. These variations are a feature of the material and part of the character of each piece.
Environmental Considerations
To preserve the finish and structure of your light, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat, high humidity.
Installation & Use
Globes and Wattage
Only use the recommended globe type and maximum wattage listed on the product page. Exceeding the specified wattage may cause damage and void the warranty.
Pendant Lights
Pendant lights must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations. Once installed do not adjust flex length or fittings unless power is isolated, and periodically check that fixings remain secure.
Table lamps
Place table lamps on stable surfaces and away from moisture. Avoid pulling or pinching the cord, and use only the supplied flex and inline switch.
Storage, Repairs & Support
Moving or Storing your Light
If relocating or storing your light: repack using the original packaging where possible; store in a dry, temperature-stable environment; and avoid stacking heavy objects on top of the light.
Repairs and Servicing
If your Arla light requires servicing or repair, please contact orders@arlacollection.com. We aim to repair wherever possible, extending the life of each piece rather than replacing it unnecessarily.
Final Note
Arla lights are designed to be lived with. Small signs of use are part of owning an object made by hand.
